Algal Bloom Sampling Results

Algal-Blooms_RButton_3

The Report Algal Blooms hotline and online submission form are for freshwater blue-green algae reports only. To report red tide blooms, visit the FWC Red Tide Status website.

Sampling Schedule

DEP reviews citizen reports of algal blooms received via the online reporting form or hotline and coordinates with other agencies who are also sampling to determine the sampling team to respond based on the location of the bloom relative to the sampling schedule for that day. Additional entities that reach out to offer sampling support are added to the schedule as needed.

The department, water management districts and FWC routinely survey and sample locations in South Florida, and are prepared to collect samples if algae is present.
